Casinos
Central City:
Central City, Colorado, was once known as the “Richest Square Mile on Earth” during the years of the famed Gold Rush of the 19th Century. And for some lucky gambers, it still is. With six main casinos and streets that evoke the same spirit of the Old West, Central City is a gaming favorite among both Coloradans and visitors looking to strike it rich — or, at least, have a good time.
Black Hawk:
With over 15 big-time casinos, Black Hawk, Colorado, is the state’s gaming gem, a little slice of Las Vegas in the middle of a canyon in the Rocky Mountains. Once the poor stepchild of Central City during the boom times of the 19th Century, Black Hawk is now Colorado’s gaming hub, offering a wide variety of fine dining and lodging, as well.
Cripple Creek:
As the county seat of Teller County, Colorado, Cripple Creek offers a quaint Old West-styled gaming town nestled near the base of 14,000-foot Pikes Peak. While the area also includes the Royal Gorge Bridge, there are more than 10 casinos in town to give gamers thrills when they’re not out exploring.
